No additional insurance required for TRICARE health insured individuals under the
TRICARE Affirmation Act!

Many in the military have kept a watchful eye on the Tricare Affirmation Act because good healthcare insurance is one of the biggest assets that a person can have.

We are pleased to report that the TRICARE Affirmation Act which was introduced by Representative Ike Skelton (D-Mo), was recently passed ensuring that the TRICARE and Non Appropriated Funds (NAF) health plans are considered to meet the minimum requirements for individual health insurance coverage, and that they qualify as "minimal essential coverage" under the recent health care reform legislation.

This means that those individuals who are covered under the Tricare or NAF health plans will not be required to purchase additional health care insurance coverage to meet the requirements of the reform legislation which states that individuals must carry "minimal essential coverage" for health care insurance.
